Christine Beasley is a celebrated Australian artist and performer, with a distinguished musical career both home and abroad. Her natural musical talent and dedication to her craft have seen her grace stages from Sydney to Germany – and now she is dedicating herself as a talented and devoted singing teacher.


Christine’s Operatic Career

Christine began her own early musical training at the Melbourne University Faculty of Music, following scholarships on to the acclaimed National Theatre Opera School before going on to study under esteemed American Soprano Helen Vanni at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, and with Eric Vietheer in London.

Her accolades include winning the Bendigo Aria in 1978, winning the Sydney Operatic Aria in 1983, being a finalist in the Melbourne Sun Aria from 1977 – 1979 and a Reserve Winner in 1980, and being judged both a State and Commonwealth Finalist in the ABC Vocal and Instrumental Competition.

During the course of her illustrious career, Christine has performed in such great operatic works as Madama Butterfly, Tosca, Cosi Fan Tutte, The Greek Passion, Verdi’s II Trovatore and La Forza Del Destino, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Beethoven’s Fidelo, and the title role in Puccini’s Opera Turandot.

While she continues to perform regularly throughout Australia, Christine’s love of encouraging young talent has seen her transition into the role of a singing teacher – giving people of all ages the opportunity to find their own voice and learn how to sing in a relaxed, friendly, and supportive environment.

Christine has been teaching singing for 20 years, working with teenagers through to mature singers of all backgrounds and musical interests. Whether you enjoy musical theatre, contemporary music or classical music, her repertoire extends to teaching you how to sing the kind of music you love.

Christine focuses on providing her singing students with a stimulating, relaxing and supportive learning environment. Her friendly and approachable teaching style puts the most tentative novice at ease.

Christine’s 3 singing teaching principles are:

  1. The singing voice is a human wind instrument. Christine will teach you the vital breath support a singer must develop in order to sing with ease and conviction.
  2. Technique is Number 1. Christine will work with you to develop your singing technique and skills, to let your natural talent shine through.
  3. Confidence is key in musicianship – even if you can’t read music. Regardless of your existing musical knowledge, Christine will help you develop confidence in your own singing voice and abilities.
